Be The Story - Cancelled, Replaced with Virtual Banquet

UPDATE:  BE THE STORY Banquet and COVID-19

We have reviewed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance on the spread of COVID19 and have monitored government recommendations and decisions over the past week.  We want to be wise and not fearful.  We want to carefully steward the mission of Youth For Christ and the people God has entrusted to us.  We want to place people over other priorities even when that decision is difficult.  We have come to the conclusion that meeting in-house with a large group of people from all demographic groups is too large a risk to manage.  Therefore, we are replacing our banquet at the Alerus Center with a virtual banquet that individuals can participate in from the comfort and safety of their own homes.  Please understand our decision is based not on fear, but on behalf of the supporters and potential supporters that were scheduled to attend.  As we switch to the virtual banquet format, please check this page.  There will also be information via mail and other communications venues.  If you have any questions, please contact the office at 701 203-1928.

What is the Be The Story event?

The YFC Be The Story is an annual fundraising event that helps fund the on-going ministry of Grand Forks Area Youth For Christ. This unique event combines food with family-friendly comedy and a creative program that highlights young people and tells the YFC story.

Who should attend?

There are two audiences that the Be The Story event t is designed to engage. The first are people who have limited or no knowledge of Youth For Christ and want to learn more about it. We simply want to introduce the ministry to this audience. The second audience is the people who know YFC and want to help support its work with students. The program will present a brief ministry report and provide an opportunity to continue to partner with us. Whatever relationship you have with YFC, we welcome you to attend.

Do I have to be religious to attend?

No. The Be The Story event does a great job involving people from all walks of life. The program will include faith content as we tell the YFC story.

How long does it last?

The evening will run from 6:00 pm – 8:45 pm. There will be a formal sit down dinner followed by a formal program.

What can I expect?

The response from previous years has been extremely positive.

Will I be asked to give?

At the end of the evening, there will be an opportunity to support the ministry as a prayer partner, volunteer, or financial supporter. This is always done in a low-key, respectful manner with the understanding that all gifts are voluntary.
