YFC is a movement that reaches young people everywhere with the hope of Christ. We work with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ, and commitment to social involvement.

Sean Patterson
Director
Sean is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1992 Sean began a 20-year career in the United States Air Force as a logistics readiness officer. It was during this time Sean learned all the necessary skills to lead YFC even if he didn't know it yet. In February 2013 he received his calling to youth ministry. Since, Sean has been instrumental in reaching youth with the gospel of Jesus Christ and expanding ministry at new locations, collaborating with the County to start a Juvenile Justice Ministry, and providing vision for the start of a new teen center less than a block from a local high school.
He and Judy have been married for 27 years. They have three children Hayden, Crosby, and Cullen.

Valley Middle School Ministry Site Lead
Hi, my name is Michael Steien, and I was born in Grand Forks (ND) and raised in Karlstad (MN)! I am the youngest of four children to Mitch and Michele Steien. After graduating with a bachelor's degree from UND in May 2020, I started working at Black Gold Farms as a Business Analyst in the I.T. department. I believe as Christians we are called to share our faith with others and continually create disciples of Jesus. Youth For Christ has provided me a way to do that. I volunteer as a middle school campus life leader at Valley Middle School where I lead a weekly club for students after school on Thursdays.

Hello, I am Jonnie. I have lived in Green Bay, WI for most of my life. I have been a volunteer youth leader and Youth Pastor for over 30 years. I moved to Grand Forks to be close to my grandkids. I started a small business and was looking for a volunteer opportunity to tell the next generation about Jesus. I grew up with an alcoholic father who was transformed by the Gospel. I have been telling people about what Jesus did for me ever since. YFC has given me great opportunity to make disciples of the next generation.

Hello, I am Kara! I have lived in eight different states throughout my life. When I was growing up, I went to six different elementary schools (three in one year)! I decided to accept Jesus Christ in my life at the age of six and was baptized at eight. When I lived in San Diego, I was involved in junior high ministry for 8 years. After moving to North Dakota, I missed being around those who are starting to discover faith in Jesus. I began volunteering with Youth For Christ in the fall of 2023 after I heard about it from Einer. I have been plugged into Thompson Public School Campus Life Club as a leader as well as a ministry leader in the Juvenile Justice Ministry program ever since!

Hello, I'm Konrad! I grew up in a military family and have lived in eight states and three countries! I came to North Dakota for college and got involved with Youth For Christ shortly after I graduated. I desire that young people can have access to a faith-based community outside of church and family structures. I get to live that out by serving as a Campus Life Leader at the Red River High School Campus Life Club!
