Welcome and thank you for visiting our Youth For Christ site!  My desire is the website conveys to you information regarding ministries, events, activities, and opportunities to serve while also highlighting our mission.  In the event you want to partner with us in sharing the hope, love, and gospel of Jesus Christ to teens throuhgout Grand Forks and surrounding communities, you can do so on this site as well.

Our ministry continues to impact the Grand Forks area and our volunteers are developing and strengthening relationships that will be have an eternal significance.  Thank you to the many people who have supported us with your gifts, talents, and time this year.

Since April 2016, we are elbows deep in the space where teens in tough situations find themselves; the Juvenile Detention Center.  We now have the capacity to spend up to six hours a day, six days a week instructing them in life skills, playing games, talking, listening, tutoring, and exercising with them.  We are still seeking volunteers who would like to make a difference in their lives and are willing to have their own life-changing experience.  Believe me, it is well worth the time and effort.

Additionally, we created a high school Campus Life club for students in Central, Community, East Grand Forks, Homeschool, Red River, and Thompson.  This takes place on Monday evenings at the Ember Coffee Shop 6:15 - 7:30 pm.  We believe this club is a great opportunity for us to hang out, share life and be in continual dialogue with students on issues, challenges, and truth.

After school on Tuesday and Thursday 3:45pm - 5:00pm, you'll find YFC volunteers and staff engaging in the lives of 11-13 year olds in our local middle schools.  This is a high-energy, fun, and impactful time where students are introduced to Jesus and how that impacts their daily lives.

If you or someone you know would like to come to a club or join us in an event/activity, please contact me.  If you would like to learn more about volunteer opportunities please click on the "Get involved" tab and provide us with your contact information so we can get in touch with you.

Be The Story Banquet:  We have reviewed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance on the spread of COVID19 and have monitored government recommendations and decisions over the past week.  We want to be wise and not fearful.  We want to carefully steward the mission of Youth For Christ and the people God has entrusted to us.  We want to place people over other priorities even when that decision is difficult.  We have come to the conclusion that meeting in-house with a large group of people from all demographic groups is too large a risk to manage.  Therefore, we are replacing our banquet at the Alerus Center with a virtual banquet that individuals can participate in from the comfort and safety of their own homes.  Please understand our decision is based not on fear, but on behalf of the supporters and potential supporters that were scheduled to attend.  As we switch to the virtual banquet format, please check our website.  There will also be information via mail and other communication methods.

MINISTRY:  Social distancing is challenging us to look at new ways to connect and keeping up with on-going relationships.  We are leveraging technology and creating electronic spaces where volunteers, staff, and students can meet, we can teach, pray, talk, and laugh.
