Power in Serving Others
Veterans Day occurred on Nov. 11th and 23 youth spent it choosing to serve four known Veteran homes amongst many other citizen homes of unknown Veteran status. YFC, Grace Youth Group, and Thrive Youth Group all came together to live out the heart of Jesus by caring for those who were in need and first cared for us through their service. We spent time going from door to door to greet people, ask if we could rake their leaves (or help them with any other small projects they may have), and pray over them at the end. I witnessed youth enjoy taking steps of courage to ring doorbells, and I heard stories about youth who deeply touched the lives of those who were unable to do the labor themselves. We never know the impact we have on another person or how badly they may need it. Veterans have made years of impact with their service by helping America remain free, and with that freedom, we hope to inspire you and youth to choose it to serve others. Veterans, thank you for your service!
